Dr. Thorson has served as a PC(USA) pastor for 20 years,
advancing her education through a doctor of ministry from
Columbia Theological Seminary in spirituality, with an
emphasis in the impact of domestic violence on women’s
spirituality.Dr. Thorson is a member of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.

Our Beginnings
Julia D. Ramseur, a native Texan, is a graduate of Southern
Methodist University in Education.
She taught Informal Bible Studies for 30 years in Richardson,
TX until returning to Texas Women's University for a MEd in
Counseling and Guidance.  She continued with supervision for
licensure as  Marriage and Family Therapist as well as
Licensed Professional Counselor. Her specialty has been Small
Groups.

In the1970's she founded Renewal Resources Inc. in the State
of Texas as a Small Group Ministry. After 17 years in private
practice with Dallas Christian Counseling she joined the staff
at the Family Life Center at Highland Park Presbyterian
Church as Small Group Director. After retirement she
continues as Spiritual Director at HPPC and hopes to soon be
training Small Group leaders in that congregation..
